Do not infer water-removal capacity from a particle rating. This guide does not specify bleaching or other refining treatments for virgin olive oil.

Filtration stages and selection

Stage Objective PARSWOOD approach to evaluate
Feed control Avoid overwhelming a polishing filter. Measure residual solids after the installed separator.
Depth clarification Evaluate sediment control without assuming an equivalent module. Trial a lenticular grade with the actual oil and record pressure rise and throughput.
Acceptance Preserve the product specification. Compare moisture, appearance and sensory results before and after filtration.

Process information to review

Oil category; upstream separation; suspended solids; moisture; viscosity and temperature; throughput; sensory acceptance.

Pressed seed & specialty food oils

A mechanically pressed oil may carry suspended seed material into storage. Set a product-specific sediment target and preserve the oil’s desired colour and flavour; a universal fine grade is not a useful starting point.

Process map / Pressed seed & specialty food oilsFollow steps 01–06
  1. 01Mechanically pressed oilConventional food-oil feed

↳ Press cake and separated solids are outside the filtrate route. This map covers conventional food oils, not cannabinoid extracts or solvent extraction.

Teal: filtration · Gold: verification. Conceptual treatment logic; pumps, valves and protective devices are not fully shown. Not an installation drawing.

Confirm whether each oil is intended to remain unrefined. Changes in flavour, colour and useful constituents must be evaluated alongside clarity.

Filtration stages and selection

Stage Objective PARSWOOD approach to evaluate
Bulk removal Reduce the load reaching disposable media. Review settling or other installed separation before adding finer media.
Particle control Meet an agreed sediment specification. Consider a compatible bag or lenticular medium and compare total batch performance.
Quality release Retain the intended oil characteristics. Use retained samples and the agreed analytical and sensory checks.

Process information to review

Seed or fruit source; pressing route; batch size; residual solids; operating viscosity; intended label and quality targets.

Conventional vegetable-oil refining • separate process interfaces

Edible-oil refinery solids control

Refining combines chemical and physical operations with distinct purposes. Filtration can separate solid treatment media or particles, but cannot be presented as a substitute for the entire refining train.

Process map / Edible-oil refinery solids controlFollow steps 01–06
  1. 01Defined refinery streamIdentify the actual upstream operation
  2. 02Installed bulk separatorRetain the plant-approved equipment
  3. 03Carryover assessmentMeasure residual suspended material
  4. 04Qualified guard dutyOnly where the process requires it
  5. 05VerificationConfirm the receiving specification
  6. 06Next approved operationFollow the refinery design
↳ This is an interface map, not a prescribed sequence for degumming, bleaching, dewaxing or deodorization. Spent solids leave through their designated handling system.

Teal: filtration · Gold: verification. Conceptual treatment logic; pumps, valves and protective devices are not fully shown. Not an installation drawing.

No verified PARSWOOD replacement for a hot bleaching-earth filter, refinery leaf filter or dewaxing system is established here. General PP elements must not be assumed suitable for these duties.

Filtration stages and selection

Stage Objective PARSWOOD approach to evaluate
Identify the stream Separate a bulk-solids duty from downstream polishing. Review the refinery diagram and the installed filter’s specification.
Guard assessment Determine whether a further stage is justified. Obtain written materials, temperature, retention and vessel qualification before proposing an element.
Release Protect the next operation. Agree a carryover test and assess performance under the actual operating envelope.

Process information to review

Upstream unit; solids identity; temperature and viscosity; flow; pressure; existing equipment; carryover limit.

Specialist equipment review

No verified catalogue equivalent is established for this duty.

Documents and trial evidence

Finished food-oil transfer & packing

An accepted oil can pick up particles during storage or transfer. A final particle-control stage should address that specific risk while preserving the formulation and fitting the packing line’s flow requirement.

Process map / Finished food-oil transfer & packingFollow steps 01–06
  1. 01Released edible-oil lotConfirm identity and specification
  2. 02Transfer preparationVerify line cleanliness and routing
  3. 03Particle-control stageQualified bag or cartridge where needed
  4. 04Outlet verificationCheck the agreed particle target
  5. 05Filling or loadingProtect the transfer interface
  6. 06Traceable packed lotRetain records and samples
↳ The map follows an accepted conventional edible oil to packaging. Rejected material remains segregated; it is not automatically reintroduced to the lot.

Teal: filtration · Gold: verification. Conceptual treatment logic; pumps, valves and protective devices are not fully shown. Not an installation drawing.

Clear oil is not evidence of sterility or absence of dissolved contaminants. Do not apply an aqueous membrane’s microbial claim to oil without application-specific validation.

Filtration stages and selection

Stage Objective PARSWOOD approach to evaluate
Transfer risk Identify likely contamination sources. Review tanks, seals, hoses and line-changeover practices.
Final particles Choose a defined retention requirement. Evaluate a suitable bag or pleated cartridge and its seal arrangement.
Packing acceptance Verify the finished product. Record lot, element, pressure history and relevant release results.

Process information to review

Oil or blend; formulation; fill rate; viscosity; particle target; line hygiene; contact time; packaging specification.

Frying-oil maintenance

Food crumbs and fine solids accumulate during frying. Their removal is one maintenance duty; the oil’s chemical condition and suitability for continued use require separate checks.

Process map / Frying-oil maintenanceFollow steps 01–06
  1. 01Oil-condition reviewUse the site’s accepted quality checks
  2. 02Equipment preparationFollow the fryer’s approved procedure
  3. 03Coarse-solids captureUse the specified equipment
  4. 04Approved oil filtrationPurpose-designed hot-oil system
  5. 05Return decisionConfirm oil remains acceptable
  6. 06Service or discardFollow the quality decision
↳ Only acceptable oil returns to service. Off-spec oil goes to the designated discard route; filtration is not a reset of the oil’s service history.

Teal: filtration · Gold: verification. Conceptual treatment logic; pumps, valves and protective devices are not fully shown. Not an installation drawing.

No PARSWOOD hot-fryer filter equivalent has been verified. General process bags, PP cartridges and lenticular modules are not offered here as replacements for the fryer’s approved system.

Filtration stages and selection

Stage Objective PARSWOOD approach to evaluate
Solid debris Control accumulated food particles. Retain the equipment-specific coarse capture stage.
Fine solids Use media designed for the installed fryer system. Confirm the full hot-oil operating and handling requirements.
Oil condition Separate clarity from continued-use acceptance. Use quality results rather than appearance alone for the return/discard decision.

Process information to review

Fryer model; installed filter system; oil type; solids burden; operating envelope; food-quality and oil-condition criteria.

Specialist equipment review

No verified catalogue equivalent is established for this duty.

Documents and trial evidence

Equipment manual; approved filter specification; oil-quality method; maintenance record; handling and discard procedures.

Conventional food-oil / water duties only

Compare the evidence before selecting a filter.

Lenticular depth modules

Candidate for clarification of conventional edible oils.

The listing explicitly includes edible oils and identifies cellulose-based sheet media with a PP support and several seal options.

Select the exact grade by trials. Obtain food-contact documentation, operating limits and evidence for any water-reduction claim; the product listing does not establish equivalent performance to another supplier’s module.

View product specifications →

Size 2 filter bags

Candidate for suitable coarse or final particle-control duties in food oils.

The catalogue offers different media and ring constructions with nominal retention ratings.

Confirm food-contact suitability, oil compatibility, basket support, seals and viscosity-related pressure loss. A nominal rating does not establish a microbial barrier.

View product specifications →

Pleated PP cartridges

Candidate for a defined particle target in a compatible liquid.

A finer particle-control option to investigate after upstream solids loading is understood.

Request the exact grade’s efficiency test, food-contact documentation and flow data for the actual oil. Do not size from a clean-water flow figure alone.

View product specifications →

High-flow cartridges

Candidate for particle pretreatment in edible-oil plant water systems.

Several constructions and formats are available; identify the precise model before comparing it with an installed element.

This guide links this family for water duty only. It does not establish suitability for food-oil production, hot frying oil, air or steam.

View product specifications →

Filter housings

Match the vessel to the selected element and hygiene requirements.

Review sealing, drainage, cleaning access, materials and the documented pressure/temperature envelope.

A housing family or stainless-steel description is not proof of hygienic design or food-contact compliance for a particular installation.

View product specifications →

Documents and trial records

Request the exact grade’s retention evidence, food-contact declaration, materials and seal details, cleaning instructions, and pressure/temperature limits. Record oil identity, viscosity, feed condition, throughput and the agreed outlet-quality results. The links above are product listings; missing declarations and validation data must be requested.
